| The Purchase Fire Department held their 2012 Annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. The weather held up and the event was well-attended by active members of the United States Marine Corps, United States Air Force, and Veterans of WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. The Purchase Boy Scout Troop No. 1 lowered the flag to half-mast with the assistance of active Marine Corps and Air Force service members. Harrison Town Board members and visiting Chiefs from our neighboring departments were also in attendance. Our moment of silence was punctuated by a flyover of a fighter jet piloted by Larry Labriola.
The Purchase Fire Department would like to express their deep appreciation for all who attended, particularly the Veterans, Marines, and Air Force service members. It is you to whom we owe our deepest gratitude for making the ultimate sacrifice and defending our freedom and American way of life. |
