The Purchase Fire Department is actively seeking dedicated members for our Bunk-In and Live-In Programs.

PFD is a 100% volunteer department operating in Westchester County, and the only fire department in the area offering a live-in program. Our exclusive fleet of Seagrave fire apparatus—consisting of 3 engines, 1 truck, and 1 rescue—responds to approximately 700 calls annually.

Our coverage includes over 30 miles of highway, with automatic mutual aid assignments as a FAST, Engine, and Rescue company to many neighboring jurisdictions for structure fires and extrications.
Located near Manhattanville College, SUNY Purchase, and Westchester Community College, this program is well-suited for students or individuals looking to combine education or work with hands-on experience in a fast-paced fire service environment.

Applicants must hold NYS Firefighter I (or equivalent) and EVOC certification to be a part of the Live-In Program. This is a rare opportunity to train, respond, and live as part of a progressive, highly active fire company.
