On Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 6:37 AM, the Harrison Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on the Hutchinson River Parkway southbound just south of the I-287 overpass. Car 2162 arrived on scene with an updated location of the exit ramp to I-287 westbound from the HRP southbound. Chief Del Signore requested Purchase be notified and respond, advising that extrication would be needed. Engine 13 arrived on scene and began stabilization and extrication efforts. Rescue 30 and Utility 10 worked with the Harrison firefighters to remove both driver side doors and the roof. Harrison EMS stood by while units completed the extrication in 10 minutes. One patient was transported ALS to the Westchester Medical Center. All units were clear at 7:16 AM.
