At 18:03 hours, the Purchase & West Harrison Fire Departments were dispatched to a motor vehicle fire on Interstate 684 from Interstate 287. Car 2411 arrived on-scene and confirmed a working car fire and indicated access for responding units. The vehicle, a Honda Accord, was located in the right lane with the operator safely outside the vehicle. The crew from Engine 241 stretched an 1 ¾ hose line to extinguish the fire while additional companies assisted with overhaul. Units returned to service just after 19:00 hours. There were no injuries.

This was the 7th call the Purchase Fire Department responded to since late afternoon. Inclement weather is expected throughout the night and the day tomorrow. Please use caution when traveling out on the roadways.
