Over the last few days, Purchase firefighters attended a Paratech University training class in Georgetown, Delaware.

Firefighters received classroom and hands on training using heavy lifting, stabilization and building shoring techniques.

Firefighters rotated through various stations and ended with a final scenario using skills they learned throughout the week.

The Purchase Fire Department covers over 25 miles of highway on Interstates 287, 684 and the Hutchinson River Parkway where these types of incidents have the potential to occur. This class helped better prepare us for dealing with these types of emergency incidents.
