| On Wednesday, February 20, 2008, the Purchase Fire Department officially placed its new engine, a 2007 Seagrave Marauder II Custom Pumper, into service. Designated Engine 238 after its predecessor, the new rig made its inaugural run to a commercial alarm at Purchase College. Appropriately enough, units were directed to Room F238, the area of activation in the Residence Halls. While only a false alarm, the incident marked the beginning of Engine 238's service life for the Purchase Fire District.
