On Saturday night the Purchase Fire Department responded to a working car fire on Purchase Street just outside of Manhattanville College. Cars 2411, 2412, Engine 240 & Rescue 30 operated. The fire was extinguished and units returned to service.
This morning the Purchase Fire Department was dispatched to Edgewood Lane for a reported oven fire. Units arrived on-scene to find smoke showing from a 2 1/2 story private dwelling with active fire inside the kitchen. Engine 238 stretched an 1 3/4 hoseline to the first floor and the fire was quickly knocked down. All searches throughout the home were negative. Tower Ladder 53 operated at roof level to check the termination points for the kitchen ductwork. The house was then ventilated and units returned to service. Car 2413, Engines 238, 240, Tower Ladder 53 all operated.
