On Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 1:37 AM, the Purchase Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Anderson Hill Road and Ophir Drive on a report of a motor vehicle accident involving wires down. Upon the arrival of Engine 240, members encountered wires down across the roadway as a result of the vehicle striking and fracturing a utility pole.

Upon further investigation, the vehicle came to rest on the Manhattanville College campus after propelling over a wall adjacent to the northwest gate and narrowly missing the Marissa A. Pagli House, which houses nine students. The driver had self-extricated from the vehicle and was transported to White Plains Hospital by Harrison EMS. Engine 240 remained on scene until 2:43 AM, turning the incident over to Con Edison for the removal and repair of the downed wires and pole.

This location was also the site of a similar accident on November 2, 2012, when a vehicle left the roadway, striking the same wall section.
