| On Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 4:24 PM, the Purchase Fire Department was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle fire on the off-ramp to Purchase Street from the Hutchinson River Parkway southbound. Car 2411 arrived on scene and confirmed the working car fire and indicated the best access for incoming units. The vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler, was located on the right shoulder with both occupants standing safely across the road. The crew from Engine 240 stretched a 100' front bumper line and extinguished the fire. Engine 238 arrived shortly after and blocked traffic. At 4:57 PM, the scene was turned over to Westchester County Police and all units returned in service. |
