Firefighters Tackle Second Extrication of Month

On Friday, March 27, 2009 at 10:11 PM, the Purchase Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Interstate 684 southbound just south of the Anderson Hill Road overpass. Engine 240 and Rescue 30 arrived first on scene to find a two car collision with one victim trapped. Car 2411 arrived shortly after and established I-684 Command. Members began to stabilize the vehicle while EMS gained access to the patient. Extrication was complete in under 10 minutes and one patient was transported ALS to the Westchester Medical Center. Units then assisted State Police with lighting until they were cleared at 10:56 PM.
