The Purchase Fire Department responded to a total of 51 calls in March. So far in 2023, the Purchase Fire Department has responded to 157 calls of service. Below is a breakdown of Fire Department activity for the month of March.

Responses:

• 10-75 (Working Fire) in Port Chester
• Motor Vehicle Fire on Interstate 684
• (11) Auto/Mutual Aid Requests to our neighboring departments
• (10) Motor Vehicle Accidents
• (9) Highway Incidents
• (4) Structural Related Fires (STRU’s)

Training:

• Driver Training
• Mask Confidence Course at the WCFTC
• Live Burn at the WCFTC
• Pump Operations
• Ladder Pipe Operations
• Firefighter Removal
• Accountability Procedures

The Purchase Fire Department provides its members with the unique opportunity of having a free place to live in exchange for service as a firefighter in the district. The program was organized in 2008 and continues to grow each year. With SUNY Purchase and Manhattanville College within our first due area, the Purchase Fire Department provides an excellent opportunity for those who wish to combine their college education with a proactive volunteer fire department. Our live-in program will provide you with extensive training and you will have the opportunity to gain significant experience. We also have tuition reimbursement programs available for our members.
