Earlier this afternoon, at 14:41 hours the Purchase Fire Department was dispatched to a transformer fire at SUNY Purchase College. Car 2411 arrived on-scene to find a compactor fire at the north loading dock. A structural assignment was then requested bringing in an additional Engine from West Harrison and a Ladder from the Harrison Fire Department. Engine 241 secured a positive water source and stretched a 2” handline to the seat of the fire. Additional companies assisted with extinguishment, overhaul and searches of the building. The fire was placed under control at 15:30 hours. There were no injuries. All units cleared at 16:15 hours.
