Multiple Serious Incidents

Last night, at approximately 22:00 hours the Purchase Fire Department along with a Harrison Engine were dispatched to the Hutchinson River Parkway for a motor vehicle fire. While enroute, 60 Control began to receive numerous reports of a rollover and motor vehicle fire in the vicinity of Interstate 287 & Westchester Ave. Harrison EMS & Rescue 40 from the Port Chester were then added to the assignment. First arriving units located a vehicle rolled over, fully involved off the roadway. Firefighters from Harrison, Port Chester & Purchase worked swiftly to extinguish the fire and gain access with extrication equipment to search for any trapped occupants. Unfortunately, one party was located inside and deceased upon our arrival. Our thoughts and prayers are with those involved. Units cleared at approximately 02:15 hours.

This morning at 03:40 hours, the Purchase Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with extrication on Interstate 684 in the area of the Hutchinson River Parkway. First arriving units located a vehicle off the roadway on its side with an occupant still inside. The crews from Rescue 30 & Engine 240 began to stabilize the vehicle and extricate the trapped occupant. Units cleared at approximately 04:40 hours.

At 03:45 hours the Purchase & West Harrison Fire Departments were dispatched to a Hazardous Materials Incident at 1000 Westchester Ave. Car 2001, and Haz-Mat 1 from the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services were requested to the scene. Units made entry to a trailer to investigate a potential spill inside. The incident was brought under control at approximately 07:30 and all units returned to service at 08:36 hours.

At 07:09 hours the Purchase Fire Department, Port Chester EMS and Rescue 40 from the Port Chester Fire Department were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 287. Units located a single vehicle into the guardrail. Units cleared at approximately 07:30 hours.
