Earlier this morning, the Purchase Fire Department & Harrison EMS were dispatched to a tractor trailer rollover on Interstate 287 EB in the area of the Hutchinson River Parkway. Units arrived on-scene to find a tractor trailer on its side across all 3 lanes of the highway. The operator was able to self-extricate prior to our arrival. Engine 240 stretched a precautionary handline, while the crews from Rescue 30 and Engine 241 worked to mitigate a small fuel spill. Harrison EMS transported the patient to a local hospital. Units remained on-scene until the tow company was able to safely upright the vehicle. You can expect residual delays on the highway this morning.

The Purchase Fire Department also responded to an Alert Level 2 at the Westchester County Airport for a plane in distress just before 1am. Car 2411 & Engine 241 were cancelled enroute as the plane was able to divert to JFK Airport and landed safely without incident.

Units: Car 2411, Engine 240, Engine 241, Rescue 30, Harrison EMS, NYSP, Thruway Authority, Vincent’s Towing.
