Ice Rescue Training

On this frigid day, our firefighters are conducting ice rescue training under realistic weather conditions as temperatures are below 25 degrees. Firefighters are practicing their skill set to be ready for when ice emergencies arise. Our firefighters are able to practice self-rescue, victim removal, tethering, communications and distributing their body weight in the water. With temperatures dropping, we urge our residents to stay off the ice during the winter season. If you see someone fall in do not attempt to go after them, call 911. Keep an eye on that person in the water so you can tell the rescuers where to find them.
