| On Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 10:32 AM, the Purchase Fire Department was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident with extrication at the intersection of Westchester Avenue and Kenilworth Road. Upon arrival, members observed a two vehicle collision involving a Ford station wagon and an Audi sedan. The station wagon was resting on the guardrail with the sedan partially beneath it. The Ford experienced moderate side damage making access to the patient difficult for EMS and firefighters. The driver's side door was removed to gain access to the driver. While Rescue 30 removed the door, Engine 240 stretched a hose line as a precautionary measure. After removal, firefighters assisted EMS with packaging the patient. The driver of the Audi did not complain of any injuries. All units cleared the scene at 11:14 AM. |
