On June 2nd at 10:26 AM, the Purchase Fire Department responded to a reported motor vehicle fire in the area of Westchester Avenue and Purchase street. Car 2411 and Engine 241 arrived on scene and found a work truck on fire. Engine 241 deployed a hand line and extinguished the fire.

Four fire-damaged lithium-ion batteries were discovered during a search of the vehicle. The Westchester County Hazmat Team was requested and responded to the scene. Purchase firefighters assisted in containing and securing the batteries.
