On Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 10:25 AM, the Purchase and West Harrison Fire Departments were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with extrication on Interstate 684 northbound at mile marker 3.2. Responding units were updated that the patient was possibly unconscious.
Car 2412 and Rescue 30 arrived first on scene and began extrication efforts. Car 2412 confirmed the rollover with extrication and established the 684 Command while Rescue 30 made patient contact with EMS to assess the proper method of removal.
While members began to remove the driver and passenger side doors, Rescue 35 arrived and provided additional personnel and equipment. Once all the doors were removed, the patient was taken out through the driver side of the vehicle. The extrication was completed in under 15 minutes and the patient was transported ALS to Westchester Medical Center in stable condition. All units were cleared at 10:57 AM.
