Purchase Fire Department's Annual Memorial Day Service

The Purchase Fire Department held their 2010 Annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Even though it was 93 degrees and humid, the event was well-attended by active members of the United States Marine Corps, all of whom served multiple tours in Iraq, as well as Veterans of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. The Purchase Boy Scout Troop No. 1 and the Cub Scouts also attended and lowered the flag to half-mast. Harrison Town Board members and the Harrison Police Chief were also in attendance.
The Purchase Fire Department would like to express their deep appreciation for all who attended, particularly the Veterans and Marines. It is you to whom we owe our deepest gratitude for giving the ultimate sacrifice and protecting our freedom.
