On Monday, November 23, 2015 at 3:17 PM, the Purchase Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with rollover and extrication on Interstate 287 eastbound at mile marker 8.3. Responding units were requested to expedite by Harrison EMS on the scene. Engine 239 and Engine 240 observed a two-vehicle accident involving a Honda Civic and a box truck. The box truck was resting on its passenger side with the driver already self-extricated. Heavy intrusion was found on the passenger side of the Civic with a patient trapped inside. Hurst tools from Engine 240 were used to remove the door and gain access for patient removal. The extrication was completed in under 10 minutes and the patient was transported by Harrison EMS. All units were cleared at 3:56 PM.
