Door Pop on Interstate 287

On Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 1:21 PM, the Purchase Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Interstate 287 eastbound in the area of Exit 10. While en route, Engine 239 and Engine 240 were updated that the accident involved three vehicles and would require extrication. Engine 240 arrived on scene and began extrication efforts on the one patient trapped in the back seat of a Nissan Pathfinder. Two tools were put into operation to remove the door to gain access to the patient for EMS. The extrication was completed within 10 minutes and three patients were transported by Harrison EMS. All units were cleared at 2:10 PM.
